Here’s some interesting information about a companion series much like The Walking Dead has that would follow the episode (or be available online) that talks with the cast and crew.

For fans of “American Horror Story,” life just got a little sweeter. Not only is the series returning to FX this October with its third season “Coven,” but it could be getting its own companion series as well. Back in March, co-creator Ryan Murphy expressed interest in streamlining the new series, and now FX Networks CEO John Landgraf informs fans that there’s a strong chance that the new show will see the light of day.

“I’d love to do it,” Landgraf told The Hollywood Reporter. “We’re thinking about it. If we do it I don’t think we’ll necessarily do it the way AMC does, as a linear thing. We might do an online thing. We haven’t made a final decision but I think there’s a decent possibility we’re going to do something like that for ‘Coven.'”
The companion series may still be in consideration, but the network has reportedly done a “fair amount of legwork” to get it off the ground and running. The future looks bright for the potential series, however, there’s still a long way to go.

Murphy originally got the idea for the series after AMC launched “The Talking Dead” as a post-show companion to the hit zombie series, “The Walking Dead.” The format has proven successful, motivating the network to launch a similar companion, “Talking Bad,” to tag on to “Breaking Bad,” which will be coming to an end this year.

Scream 4 star Emma Roberts is the latest star to sign up for the third installment of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story—this year subtitled Coven. Roberts will play a party girl named Madison, according to TVLine, which first broke the news.

Roberts will be joining her real-life boyfriend Evan Peters on the series along with Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Patti Lupone, Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, and Frances Conroy. Murphy has also worked with Emma’s aunt, Julia Roberts, previously on Eat Pray Love and will be directing her in his adaptation of The Normal Heart for HBO.

At Paleyfest this year, Murphy and company revealed that the show’s third season will be subtitled “Coven”. Yes, this season we’re going to be seeing witches with some returning cast favorites to the mix again.

“We’re far enough along in the writing that I can tell you what it’s about,” Murphy announced to more than 1,000 of the show’s fans who attended the PaleyFest panel on the series Friday night at the Saban Theatre in Los Angeles.

Murphy (Nip/Tuck, Glee, The New Normal) confirmed there would be witches in the new season, but failed to reveal any more plot specifics. “It’s a really cool story that we’ve been talking about for a couple of years, actually, and this seemed the year to do it,” he continued.

Jessica has recently signed up for season three of American Horror Story season 3 along side returning alum Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe and Evan Peters. It’s been recently noted that Kathy Bates will be joining the cast as well and here’s what they had to say about who Kathy will play against Jessica.

According to TV Line, Oscar winner Kathy Bates is poised to join American Horror Story season 3 as the arch-enemy (and former best friend) of Jessica Lange’s new character. The season is expected to be more historical than previous rounds – though it will jump through a few different time periods – and will feature a somewhat lighter tone than the bleak Asylum.
